Inspiration
Our Inspiration for this project was to practice our abilities in React.js and create a properly functioning app to back up our Adobe XD draft. We were specifically drawn to the Intact challenge as we liked an idea we had about collecting data from the customers car via a Vehicle Tracking device that is stuck onto the car.
What it does
Our app aims to be a simple and user friendly guide to claiming insurance on your damaged car and or property, by having a simple pathway leading you to the specific claim you wish to make, and provide the user with information they may need along the way.
How we built it
We built our project in React.js after creating a proper draft in Adobe XD, using Firebase to store user data onto the cloud.
Challenges we ran into
Though we feel the routing between pages is very good, we had a hard time reaching the CSS goals we placed on ourselves, and some features we chose to hardcode in order to at least properly portray our vision.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We believe our draft properly displays our vision for this project, and could be insightful for any insurance companies looking to make an easy to use application for their customers to claim their insurance.
What we learned
We are happy to say this Hackathon has been great practice for our overall coding knowledge, especially in React and JavaScript, as well as a better knowledge of how some insurance companies offer insurance claims to customers.
What's next for Intact P&C Insurance Claim Application
A lot of elbow grease into our CSS, and providing more dynamic functionality to our added features.
