Inspiration

Understanding insurance plans can be tricky, especially for those just starting out in a career. Insurapath aims to solve this issue by producing and educating about reliable insurance plan choices.

What it does

Insurapath provides a questionnaire to users where they answer novel questions about themselves. Afterwards, Insurapath displays a results page which informs users of their suggested insurance plan from our LLM based on the answers to the questionnaire. Additionally, because the power of savings is not well understood by young adults, we created a wellness simulator that simulates how much savings with compound interest can accumulate.

How we built it

The front-end of our website is built with React and Tailwind. The back-end of our website is built with Java and Springboot.

Challenges we ran into

On the back-end side, it was very difficult to get Amazon Bedrock functioning. At one point (and other teams faced this) our AWS account was completely blocked and we are unable to utilize AI.

What we learned

We learned how to use React and Tailwind as well as how to incorporate AI into our backend with Amazon Bedrock.

What's next for Insurapath

Registration and stored questionnaire data, a more extensive questionnaire, more features within our wellness simulator to encourage those in their early-career to make sound financial choices.
