Inspiration In the conventional insurance claiming process there will be lot delay in claim approval funding. Also there are multiple third parties and brokers are involved in the insurance claiming portals which delayed the process and increase brokerage. As a solution we have planned to use block chain based insurance registration and claim submission
What it does The portal name is Insurance hub.
It will allow users to register for an insurance using QR scan. after registration users can either connect to their meta-mask wallet or Hbar wallet to the portal where they will pay the charges in Hedera Hbars using Hedera smart contracts
In claiming process once the claim is submitted via "submit claims" which will immediatly connected to insurance API and trigger a block for claiming with relevant documents. We are expecting to complete the claiming process in <10 minutes after submission
How we built it We were used solidity for smart contracts then a a JS function will be created for connecting with wallets over an HTMS page. API's will be called over JS function. We have refernced source codes from giuthub to speedup the process
Challenges we ran into API connection failed to connect with dummy insurance website since we are new to solidity connecting to wallets take more time than expected
due to some time constraintswe have yet to implement the full idea
Accomplishments that we're proud of As hackers at our very first hackathon, we are excited to collaborate and share a website that we created together. we learned and implemented the basic Solidity, HTML/CSS/Javascript and even used the opensource API.
