Inspiration
At my current internship, the customer support team dedicates a significant amount of time answering queries about our product. Despite providing initial demos and walkthrough videos, users find it challenging to grasp the content of these videos and often hesitate to watch them in full whenever they encounter an issue. Consequently, our support team faces a daily influx of questions regarding product functionality. This inefficiency burdens our support team and frustrates our customers.
What it does
This app revolutionizes how software walkthroughs are utilized by creating a ChatGPT-style interface. It allows customers to ask real-time questions about product functionality based on analyzed walkthrough videos. This innovation accelerates query resolution for customers and optimizes time for customer support teams.
How we built it
We developed a streamlined webpage using fundamental front-end features. Utilizing OpenCV, we analyzed the audio and video components of walkthrough videos. By integrating OpenAI, we created a responsive question-answer service.
Challenges we ran into
The project was initiated recently due to a change in ideas, and I tackled the development independently within a short timeframe. I was also learning a lot of API integrations and front-end on the fly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Within approximately 8 hours, I successfully constructed an entire webpage and nearly finalized a proof of concept for addressing a pressing real-world challenge.
What we learned
This project significantly enhanced my understanding of front-end development and provided insights into constructing comprehensive end-to-end solutions.
What's next for Instruct.AI
Currently, the application faces some fragmentation in its operational flow, requiring manual inputs between steps. My next steps involve consolidating these processes into a cohesive application and initiating user testing to refine its functionality.
