Inspire

The mental health of a person is crucial when living their life. It influences their behaviors & actions, whether positive or negative. Simply put, 'Inspire' helps motivate and uplift a persons mood.

Inspiration

The inspiration for this software was motivational quotes and videos I've seen throughout the summer that helped and encouraged me to take rigorous classes.

What it does

To summarize it, it is a software where in the 'Home' page, it can generate quotes and can generate new and more quotes. There is a 'Reference' page where it helps look at certain individuals story and see what they did/accomplished and websites that you can start using to help improve. There is a 'About' page where it shows about the websites functionality.

How we built it

I used Visual Studio Code for the IDE. The languages involved are HTML, CSS, Javascript. I used online resources like Youtube and W3Schools to learn coding languages. I am very thankful for the youtuber BroCode for helping me learn the basics of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I used an AI tool to help learn information about things that isn't explicitly shown in the internet/youtube. In the home page, I got the quotes from oberlo and for the background picture I got it from vecteezy. And lastly, for the information in the 'Reference' page of the software, it is hyperlinked to the websites that I got the information from, wikipedia articles for the people, and the website page of the websites that are listed there.

Challenges we ran into

Since it is my first time using these 3 coding languages, it took some time to learn and get the hang out it. Some of the information that I needed were sometimes not explicitly shown or stated in articles and videos.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud that I was able to make a simple software that acts like a motivational website, learn three new coding languages, and joined a Hackathon for the very first time.

What we learned

I learned the basics of the coding languages HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I also learned how to use Github for the first time and know what to expect in future hackathons if I join a new one.

What's next for Inspire

There's quite a lot in this software that I would like to add such as light/dark mode, new options to choose from in the navigation bar, using API's to help generate/find new quotes, people, and information in general, and a cleaner and better design. Although since it is my first time and it is very very simple, I do wish to improve this software and make it more appealing to the eye.
