Inspiration quote generator

Inspiration The inspiration behind this project is the need to lower the increasing rates of depression within young adults, under the age of 25 by the click of a button. My group wanted to solve this world's issue by creating a website where a user dealing with depression can visit our site and generate any uplifting quote. The generator will generate different uplifting messages to the user whether they decide to see it when they first wake up or see it before they sleep. Studies have shown reading a motivating message can have a burst of wisdom to get our focus back, offering the inspiration needed for the day or occasion.

What it does The website generates new quotes through a click of a button.There are four categories: mind, inspiration, love, and sports.The user has the option to click through any of the four categories and generate a quote when they would like to.

How we built it We built it by first conceiving the Idea of what we could do, that could help people care more, and be more intune with each other. A place where they could find peace, and inspiration. Then we came up with the Quote Generator. This is because, we noticed that most people usually turn to quotes at any point in their lives, whether sad, or happy, and they will always have a hard time finding this, hence the idea for this project. So, coupled with our different individual backgrounds, and culture, we decided this would be the best possible common ground to work on, and with, and have fun while doing it.

Challenges we ran into Challenges my group ran into were the different time zones members of the group were in. The group found it challenging to find a specific time to get on a call due to that factor.

Accomplishments that we're proud of Accomplishments that we are proud of are our cooperating skills. Although, each member had different levels of coding experience, from beginner to experience. The group still managed to work together and collaborate different ideas with each other that eventually worked out.

What we learned Each individual in the group had different levels of coding experience. For example, two members of the group were not well versed in the front end. During the hackathon, two members had to learn HTML and CSS for that portion of the project. While the other two members needed a refresher for the back end portion of the project. Although each member had some prior experience of coding each individual had room to increase their knowledge. Working together and learning from each other made the process easier and enjoyable.

What's next for Inspiration quote generator What’s next is the user to have the ability to add their own quote or image to the generator. This will allow the user to remember what words of inspiration inspired them that day. We can make an app for it with a timer which gives you a motivational quote or good news which is happening around the world. Since our website is based on positivity we can add some features for example, meditation instruction and a separated work environment with pomodoro technique.
