Inspiration
Insomnia affects over 37% of the current population in some form or other. Insomniacs suffer mood and memory impairments, among other undesirable corollaries, researchers from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine have verified. The impact on productivity is estimated to be about $8.5B dollars and until now solution to solve this issue was significantly higher. With VR and AI, we can build a product less than $100 than significantly improve life of people suffering through this disease.
What it does
Using VR and AI, we have build an app + hardware to creat audio-visual stimulation to trigger specific patterns in the brain. This device produces the patterns your brain needs in order to produce deep states of relaxation.”
How I built it
We have built prototype that synchronises with custom designed android app to capture breathing pattern, pulse, ambient and body temperature to create sound and light that would your brain needs in order to produce deep states.
Challenges I ran into
The design is still in prototype phase and identifying the right sensors are critical to this design.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
In less than 4 weeks, we were able to create the prototype and test out the initial features. We have tested it on over 5 participants with positive results.
What I learned
This is still in progress and will be updated.
What's next for InsoVR
We are in process of filing 3 patents and engaging with vendor to build early prototypes.
