Inspiration
We were inspired by the need to support visual learners who struggle with traditional text-based explanations. The idea was to combine the power of GPT-4 with Manim animations to create a more engaging, accessible, and effective way to learn.
What it does
InSight is an AI-powered chatbot that provides dynamic, step-by-step explanations augmented with custom Manim animations. It helps visual learners better understand complex concepts by pairing detailed text explanations with vivid, animated visuals.
How we built it
We integrated GPT-4 to generate detailed, accurate text-based explanations and used Manim to create corresponding animations that visually demonstrate each concept. By combining these two tools, we were able to offer a more interactive and engaging learning experience.
Challenges we ran into
One major challenge was ensuring the animations perfectly aligned with the text explanations and flowed smoothly. Synchronizing the AI’s responses with the generated animations required prompt engineering, output parsing, and video integration to keep the learning experience coherent and seamless.

We’re proud of successfully merging AI-powered explanations with dynamic visualizations, making complex topics more accessible. The integration between GPT-4 and Manim was a key milestone, allowing us to offer something truly innovative for visual learners.
What we learned
We learned a lot about the power of combining different technologies to enhance learning. Specifically, integrating text-based AI with visual tools like Manim not only increases engagement but also helps users retain information more effectively.
What's next for InSight
Next, we plan to expand InSight’s capabilities by supporting more subjects and improving the interactivity of the animations. We also want to make the system more personalized, adapting to each learner’s needs and pace.
