inSight

InSight is an intuitive Android application that aims to simplify daily life ever so slightly by allowing you to capture nearly anything you see on your smartphone camera, and it then provides you with information about it, along with links to Amazon and other retail sellers. Blurring the lines between e-commerce and real-time products/images, inSight not only analyzes the product that is presented to it but also compares prices among major, oligopolistic firms in America. This is accomplished by employing Computer Vision, an Image Server, and an intuitive scraper with a set of custom built Android functionality, which recognizes the contours of the objects presented in pictures and determines its nature. Moreover, we also designed an innovative XML template to enhance usability. A fully functional Android application, inSight aims to bring simplicity and automation to otherwise convoluted daily tasks. Virtual interaction with our physical world has never been easier!

I worked on back-end JavaScript to provide our app with access to online marketplaces, and designed part of the UI on Android Studio to enhance User Experience. Additionally, I worked with AWS and created a custom skill for the Alexa which eases the app usage

I designed the UI/UX of the Android Application, including the main landing and result page, through XML and Android Studio. I contributed to the Back-end by coding in Java as well. I was also the Graphics Designer for InSight, having made the logo (on Sketch) and the Project Movie (on iMovie).
