Inspiration

Over the course of the pandemic, teachers were required to teach online, and a common issue was that because many were not used to drawing on a virtual whiteboard, students could not always understand what was being written.

What it does

Our website provides a tool for teachers and students to practice their handwriting with a mouse or drawing tablet.

How we built it

We built our website with HTML, JavaScript and CSS through replit.com.

Challenges we ran into

We had quite a few challenges because we are both very new to all three programming languages, such as drawing exactly on the cursor of the user, changing the label and color of the "Dark/Light Mode" button, and loading multiple characters entered by the user.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are both very proud of our whole project, as we had little to no experience with these languages, but especially with the canvas as drawing was a fun feature to implement.

What we learned

We learned the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript and how to create a drawing canvas.

What's next for Inscription Institution

Hopefully over the next few years, school systems around the world will learn about website and use it to teach their students, and we can develop methods of allowing the user to choose the text displayed, color, and language.
