Problem Statement

In a world, where air pollution is one of the leading health hazards, something should be done to monitor our Air Quality and take further actions depending upon the levels. So this idea came up to make a portable device which can easily be plug and placed anywhere to monitor it's surroundings.

Device Working

While Monitoring, it gives us the surrounding Temperature and Humidity. PM2.5 which are mostly present in smokes and PM10 which is our normal dust particles. Alongside, it calculates the Air Quality Index and shows the current AQI levels so anyone can understand easily and helps maintaining the environment.

How it's Done

By using basic and most commonly used microcontroller the Arduino and and choosing best fit sensors for the project who's measurements are comparatively accurate. The process includes:

  • Programming of Controller in C Language
  • HTML and CSS for the LCD display
  • 3D Modeling of the device case in SolidWorks
  • 3D printing of the Device Case
  • Assembling
  • Harsh testing and durability

Challenges Faced

Major challenge was the selection of best sensor, so for that i tried every other available sensor in the market and calculated the accuracies and chose best fit.

Benefits

This has now become a very handy and likeable for everyone because anyone can easily place it on table tops or in offices so they can consistently monitor environment around them, it can help everyone to maintain good environment around them.
