Inspiration

The team was inspired by the engaging experience we had working with artificial intelligence. We wanted to create a tool that enhances people's lives and boosts productivity. Our aim is to develop a friendly, approachable response style, so users feel like they are chatting with a supportive Victorian-era friend named Aether.

What it does

The Innovatech Aether is designed to process user input effectively. It possesses a distinctive method of responding, making it a valuable companion within a medieval context.

How we built it

The Innovatech Aether was built with Codepen and OpenAI API to create artificial intelligence that gives off steampunk vibes, and its website was designed with webflow. Languages Used: JavaScript, HTML(integrated with Cloudflare), CSS.

Challenges we ran into

Our first challenge was coming up with an original idea that is able to incorporate a steampunk theme as well as the spoken language of the 19th century(though it really isn’t so different from now), with someone never before seen. We had issues with working on multiple devices to ultimately create one user interface. Aswell as the more we added to the code, the more issues arrived with the functionality of the “upload” button(to be able to process images and then output a short and concise summary).

Accomplishments that we're proud of

An accomplishment we are proud of is that we eventually made Aether website work and our website ran efficiently without any problems. Those problems we worked on overnight and earlier in the morning so it’s something that we are proud of regardless.

What we learned

We, the team, learned so much from our first hackathon, which excited us. Ultimately, we could work together and do things efficiently as a team, and that everyone learned something new about how to code specific things to make it run. This event enhanced our coding skills and time management.

What's next for Innovatech Aether

The next step for Innovatech is to reach our goals in the future; there might be significant updates as this is the start for Aether. Aether will then have more abilities than just answering responses, but we will keep working on it to make it speak and eventually integrate it into robots.
