Feasibility and Scalability

Is the project technically feasible? Does the demonstrated AI solution actually work?

We have innovated an advanced AI technology based on some of the latest advancements in the field of Generative AI. We built this technology by utilizing multimodal large language models, Google GEMINI AI models.

Please note that the video shows screenshot recording of working demo.

To enable validation, our project source code can be utilized to validate that our technology is indeed a real working solution.

How scalable is the solution? Is it affordable for the target population?

The solution has two components. One component is the smartphone app, which can be downloaded on any Android smartphone, including an easily affordable Android One capable phone. The Android app can be downloaded by anyone using a cheap Android phone in any part of the globe. The Android app transmits data via the internet to the cloud server. The second component is the AI model which runs on the cloud. The cost of cloud server hosting can be sponsored or funded by a govt program or by Global NGO. So the solution can be accessed by anyone who is currently using any smartphone. Local NGOs in the villages can enable knowledge sharing of these novel solutions. As long as the cloud server cost can be sponsored by any sponsoring organization, the smartphone app can be used free of cost. Hence, the solution is deployable to rural people without any incurring any expenses.

Can it be applied to a broader context or replicated in different settings?

We already demonstrated in the video the many use cases ranging from STEM education, medical education, and coaching.

4 Challenges Addressed

The solution can be repurposed to achieve many sustainable goals.

  1. Coaching staff/volunteers on simple procedures on many different goals in different NGOs:

Organizations across different countries can employ our open source AI solution to coach health volunteers on various medical procedures. NGOs such as the Red Cross can employ this AI to coach newer staff on first aid in road accidents (Stop the bleed campaign in USA) or first aid in conflict areas (Ukraine Russia war) or first aid to treat snake bits (in rural farmers in India/Africa) or emergency pregnancy-labor pain-new birth delivery care in remote primary clinic areas (to reduce maternal mortality in Africa).

4 Challenges Addressed

  1. Scalable to many countries to impact Millions of children:

This solution is Scalable to many countries to impact Millions of children. Note the demo video shows how the STEM education solution scales from a classroom in the USA to low-income schools in rural India!

As per African Union, Africa’s education and training programs suffer from low-quality teaching, as well as inequalities and exclusion at all levels. This solution can be deployed to Africa / Nigeria by govt/local schools. The demo shows how the AI is able to learn from the best professors in the USA and bring that quality of expertise to every child in rural low-income settings.

The solution can also be deployed in UNICEF/UNRWA children camps, where access to teachers can be challenging.

4 Challenges Addressed

  1. Supports progress on SDG 5 - Gender goals - Girl/Women empowerment

By empowering girl education, the path for sustainable progress can be accelerated. The STEM education demoed can greatly benefit supporting STEM education for girls. Since the AI brings the best (virtual) teacher to personally coach each child, the impact can be systemic and deep, and scalable to millions. STEM education empowers girls by equipping them with the knowledge and skills to solve real-world problems. It gives them the tools to understand and shape the world around them.

The solution also demonstrated that it can address girl-child deaths. One Nigerian child of every 13 born dies before reaching age 1.

4 Challenges Addressed

Does this solution enable Scalable impact? Can this AI help to accelerate SDG targets in a scalable way? What is the Can it support capacity building?

The solution can be employed to build capacity in local communities. It can be used to coach new volunteers on new tasks.
