Inspiration

The inspiration for our project comes from a simple yet profound belief: that in times of need, communities can come together to support one another.

What it does

This website actually helps people who are in need of food and supplies through volunteers. The food can be donated by individuals or through event or parties, where most of the left-over food ends up in trash Instead of this, we could connect the needed ones with the left-over food.

How we built it

The backend was done using node.js .The frontend uses a handlebar view engine (server rendered)

Challenges we ran into

There is a part where we tried to implement a location-based function used to map the route and get the distance so that we could connect donors with volunteers so that they inform the nearby person. The main issue we faced here was implementing the Google Maps API with our project. Instead, we use open source technology, openstreetmap.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Without wasting any time with the Google API, we tried open-source projects and could do the same. and we managed to form a team consisting of skills which complement each other. By doing this project, we gained a deep understanding about the strengths and weakness of our team members

What we learned

learned how to work as a team and manage resources effectively.

What's next for Innov8?

We have several large product ideas which we are planning to implement in the future
