Inspiration

Since both my parents are doctors, I observe a lot of patients either miss their appointments or doesn’t get their medications on time, which consequently lead to even worsening health conditions. This big issue grabbed my attention and motivated us to do more research on it with the mission of making the treatment model more convenient, safer, timely, and cost-effective all at once.

What it does

From taking an appointment with a doctor until getting the medicines delivered at their doorstep, patients do not need to worry about anything. The process becomes a lot easier for doctors as well, since the consultancy domain of treatment is virtualized. It keeps them updated about the latest medications and resources. With our automation techniques, the system handles 70% of doctor’s tasks so that they can focus and provide the best treatment to the patients. With the help of Irida, we will make the healthcare process convenient, safer, timely, and cost-effective by filling up the loophole in the treatment model and connecting different complementing industries together. Moreover, instead of just piling up all the technology, we have focused on keeping the interface as simple as possible for users. We tested our prototype on doctors and here is one of the reviews from our survey.

How we built it

Being freshmen at UB, we applied all our potential skillset to develop this product. Utilizing programming languages like Python, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, HTML, we made Irida from scratch! And we really think that working further on this project, “IRIDA” will become a tool having the potential to save millions of lives by transforming and making advancements in the whole healthcare industry.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was to configure Speech Recognition. However, having a great team, we nailed it!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are living in the most technologically advanced era, the 21st Century. And we have the best treatment methods, tools, and utilities than ever. However, the biggest existing challenge persisting in society is the Disorganized and Non-Standardized Healthcare Model. All these pains are caused due to old treatment procedures and they really sucks! However, with Irida, we were able to solve it.

What we learned

We learnt the real-world application of what we learnt so far and what are the most important elements for customer interaction with the software.

What's next for InnoStellar Project VTP

We can connect with 3 major industries- Healthcare providers, general community, and Medical retailers and companies. After scaling, we will also partner with resource and product-based organizations. The concept of Irida will open a lot of opportunity for both- us and costumers.
