Inspiration 💡

As students, we’re tired of the same old networking routine—handing out resumes, sharing LinkedIn links, or sending people to template portfolio websites that barely capture who we are. It feels flat, impersonal, and honestly… a little boring.

We wanted to make something different—something that actually shows who you are in a memorable way. InnerSelf transforms your identity (both future and present) into an interactive AR experience 📲

What it does 🧐

InnerSelf asks you a few questions about yourself, whether that's your present self or your future self. You can talk about your job, style, hobbies, or professional skill and even lets you upload your business card. From there, it generates:

  1. An AR business card: Scan your physical card and watch it pop into augmented reality with animations and interactive details.
  2. A 3D digital identity model: Your personality and answers are turned into a 3D room model that represents you in AR.

The result? A futuristic, interactive way to network, share yourself, and leave a lasting impression on those recruiters 😉

How we built it ❓

  • Gemini API
  • Tripo3D AI API
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • Aframe
  • AR.js

Challenges we ran into 💢

We had difficulties seamlessly connecting to the Tripo3D API and ensure that there was communication with other components like the frontend side and Gemini API 🤧

Accomplishments that we're proud of 🎖️

We're SO SO proud that we were able to successfully generate 3D models based on users' prompts. Our team had never worked with augmented reality before, so this was an amazing moment for us 🤗

What we learned 😎

We learned how to minimize merge conflicts by dividing responsibilities where one teammate focused on the frontend while the other handled the backend.

What's next for InnerSelf ✨

  • We aim to expand InnerSelf to let multiple users share their AR rooms with each other, creating a connected world of personal spaces that reflect not just individual identities, but also the relationships and connections that are an essential part of who we are
  • Instead of AR rooms, AR houses can be created to help represent the many intricate parts of our identities, past, present and future 🏠
