Inspiration

With the rise of digital tools like Google Workspace, we were inspired to explore how technology can improve everyday tasks in educational institutions like INTEC Education College. From that idea, we built two projects: UnityDex and InMap — each solving real issues through accessible tech.

What it does

Developed for our final project in USCS23: Introduction to Python Programming, InMap is a Python-based interactive campus map. It allows users to:

  1. Navigate INTEC’s campus using a clickable map and avatar
  2. Log in securely with custom credentials
  3. Report maintenance issues quickly and directly

How we built it

InMap Built with Tkinter, file handling, and core Python concepts, InMap is designed to improve campus navigation and communication.

UnityDex UnityDex uses Google Forms and Looker Studio to streamline processes like feedback collection and data reporting. We surveyed 200+ educators to identify system inefficiencies and proposed using NFC and mobile tools to speed up form submissions and activity tracking. The result is faster, clearer, and more productive data handling.

Challenges we ran into

  1. Designing a clear, user-friendly GUI while including UX
  2. Managing multiple files and data securely
  3. Ensuring smooth collaboration between team members
  4. First-time learning AppSheet and integration of Gemini AI API

What we learned

Through these projects, we mastered tools like Google Looker Studio, Python, and Tkinter, while developing practical solutions that can benefit students, staff, and management at INTEC.
