In 2005, Google Maps and GPS disrupted and forever changed outdoor navigation. Paper maps were rendered obsolete, and hundreds of millions of people now find their way around the world with ease. But Google Maps only takes you to the front door.
Once inside shopping malls, museums, or airports, it is extremely easy to get lost. Visitors must search for directories, scan crowded maps, and squint to discern size 6 font.
Through our website, users can upload and create maps of any indoor venue (malls, company buildings, airports, schools, etc.). After the map creator labels rooms and links them to pathways, the indoor map is published on our iOS app and made available to the world. Rooms can be searched, and paths are routed through Dijkstra's shortest path algorithm. Since maps are user-generated and easily made in 10 to 30 minutes, our system allows for the mapping of millions of indoor venues across the world.
