InkSim Lab is a mixed-reality science simulation concept designed specifically for Logitech MX Ink on Meta Quest. It transforms the stylus from a creative drawing tool into a precision scientific instrument, enabling users to perform interactive physics, electricity, and molecular experiments directly within their real-world environment using passthrough MR.

The experience allows users to draw structures naturally with the MX Ink stylus. Lines become rigid rods, closed shapes become solid bodies, and coils become elastic springs. Using the stylus tip, users can apply force to objects — with pressure sensitivity controlling the magnitude of force — creating realistic interactions governed by real-time physics.

In the electricity module, users can draw conductive paths, connect batteries, and power bulbs while visualizing current flow dynamically. In molecular mode, sketched atoms automatically bond into simple molecules, and applied force can break bonds to demonstrate reactions.

The three physical buttons on MX Ink enable seamless tool switching between drawing, interaction, and erasing, while haptic feedback reinforces contact with simulated objects. Mixed-reality passthrough anchors experiments to real desks and surfaces, making the experience feel grounded and spatially intuitive.

InkSim Lab is designed as a safe, cost-effective, and infinitely repeatable virtual laboratory experience suitable for classrooms, remote learners, and self-guided exploration. By leveraging MX Ink’s 6DoF tracking, pressure sensitivity, and tactile feedback, the application demonstrates how precision stylus input can redefine scientific interaction in mixed reality.
