Inspiration
We wanted to build an app that reduces stress and helps users in dire situations such as that of being injured.
What it does
The app allows users to take or upload a picture of an injury then identifies the injury and provides immediate treatment solutions.
How I built it
The app was built with Javascript on Expo.io which allows the app to run on both iOS and Android. The Google Cloud Platform Cloud Vision API was used to recognize the injuries in the photos provided by the users.
Challenges I ran into
The team was unable to import the Google Vision API as a node module. To overcome this issue, the team used Ajax request to send data to the API to upload the images into the Cloud.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Coming up with a cool name!
What I learned
The team learned to use Expo API and Google Cloud API.
What's next for BruiseClues
Bruise Clues aims to allow the app to take user feedback about the details of their injuries such that the diagnoses will become more specific and accurate. Furthermore, the team wishes to implement Blues Clues in health service technologies to improve the quality and promptness of health services.
