Inspiration
The idea for InHabit arose from the desire to address the growing issue of urban sustainability. Witnessing the disconnect between urban dwellers and their environment inspired us to create a solution that fosters a deeper connection with nature in urban settings.
What it does
InHabit is a web app that encourages users to explore and engage with different events and activities published by the government or NGO's toward green initiatives and sustainability. By doing such activities they get points and earn rewards.
How we built it
We utilized Python, MySQL, React, CSS, JavaScript, and Figma in crafting InHabit. User feedback and iterative design played a crucial role in shaping the app's features and functionality.
Challenges we ran into
We encountered challenges in ensuring data privacy compliance and fostering user engagement amidst competing apps. Overcoming technical hurdles while maintaining a seamless user experience was paramount.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building a platform that fosters a sense of environmental stewardship and community connection has been immensely rewarding.
What we learned
Developing InHabit taught us the importance of user-centric design and the power of gamification in driving behaviour change. We also gained insights into effectively balancing user privacy with personalized experiences.
