Inspiration

Being children from immigrant parents, we’ve experienced how food plays a crucial role in getting involved in our cultures as well as understanding others.

What it does

This service is for all the foodies out there who want to stay connected to their roots and explore new cultures. It presents different countries with their cultural recipes. Users can click on the different regions to find authentic recipes for a variety of cultures.

How we built it

We wrote our Python and CSS code on Visual Studio Code and utilized Python Dash, plotly.express, and Pandas into our code. We also used a Kaggle dataset with over 5000 recipes and 33 countries.

Challenges we ran into

We had challenges with coming up with an applicable idea at the start, and filtering the data for our usage.

What's next for InFused

In the future, we hope to add more countries and cuisines to our map. Additionally, we want to provide more recipes when you click on each country and incorporate photos of the delicious dishes.
