Information Dissemination - Long John Silvers

Inspiration

We were inspired by the technological advancements in Natural Language Processing and wanted to implement the state-of-the-art technologies in this Hackathon

What it does

It can give Users summaries of covid-19 rules given a category. It can give a concise, accurate and up-to-date answers given a query. It illustrates the effective dates on a calendar to improve user experience.

How we built it

We leveraged the following technologies, Haystack, ElasticSearch and Sentence Transformers, to build a answering system that provides efficient, up-to-date and accurate information on COVID-19 related rules and regulations

Challenges we ran into

Though we were adept with the backend technologies, we struggle at creating a beautiful user interface for users to navigate and connecting it to the backend architectures. Hence, we used proto.io to sketch out rough UI and user interactivity.

Being able to build a working answering system that provides accurate answers on stream-lit

What we learned

Hackathons are not easy. Managing team dynamics and communicating effectively so everybody is one the same page takes practice.
