SPENCER Presents: SafeUpdates
Inspiration
As the local authorities continue to oscillate between the tightening and relaxing of Covid-19 measures in the interests of public health, it is inevitable for many individuals to feel lost amidst a multitude of informational sources. Upon further scrutiny, our team has further identified 3 aspects of the problem:
- Noting both substantive laws and effective dates of the laws;
- Multiple informational sources;
- Commercial Response
What it does
To solve these problems, we have created SafeUpdates. SafeUpdates, which comes in the form of a website, is envisioned to provide information on all up-to-date Covid measures and neatly categorise these rules according to the users' purposes. Such categories include businesses, sports, education and social etc. To this end, we have web-scraped relevant government websites, such that SafeUpdates is constantly on the lookout for new regulations on these sites and may immediately import these rules upon their promulgation.
What’s next for SafeUpdates
That's not all - while the current version is just a prototype due to the constraints of time, we anticipate additional features such as:
- Search Bar Function
- Subscription Service which delivers new information via email newsletter
- Questionnaire on a SafeMe telegram bot which guides users based on the number of family/non-family, vaccinated/non-vaccinated individuals expected to be convened.
