Inspiration

We want to build a product that engages customers with our product and contributes to the local community by giving back incentives.

What it does

Our application enables the company (PepsiCo) to allot some marketing budget to local influencers in the county. Then, interested influencers may enroll in the budget program to drive brand engagement in their digital community. We'll have a backend algorithm to validate engagement metrics and observe statistical metrics to identify reasonable causality between online engagement and short-term sales. Then, after analyzing the digital engagement data and sales, a final incentive will be decided.

How we built it

We built our product on a python backend and REACT frontend.

Challenges we ran into

Determining the direct effect of online engagement and statistically concluding a causal relation is difficult. However, the company can consider these incentives as a marketing budget and be lenient on causality. On top of that, building an ethical incentive model is a great challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We started with an ambitious analytics module but quickly understood the flaws in our earlier design. We quickly pivoted to a product mindset and started to build a platform with similar motivation to provide the company with an opportunity to give back to the community.

What we learned

We understood the difficulties in driving engagement and quantifying the effects of the same.

What's next for us

We can improve on our two modules where, in one of them, we identify genuine local influencers and differentiate them from those with different intents. The second area of development for us is to build an ethical statistical model to match efforts and incentives.
