Inspiration

My inspiration came from the fact that kids, teens, and young adults, not to mention adults as well these days are really struggling with learning. Especially after COVID, many have had to change the way they work, learn, and communicate. And it is definitely really impacting our kids... For myself, I have lived and experienced many struggles growing up, and from the experience I gained from growing and maturing, I want to help others.

What it does

You can input any type of lesson or subject or anything you are wanting to learn about interactively through gaming, and the class or grade level or difficulty, and you will get an unlimited amount of generated games to choose from, 3 at a time, based on your preferences. You can even talk to the AI to modify and tweak the games and lessons as much as you'd like. Multiplayer is available. You can ask to do active games or outside in nature. Just about anything you can imagine is possible to learn and have fun in infinite ways!

How I built it

Using PartyRock, I made sure to read all the docs, then I went to the AWS website to read all their docs for every model available and their details. I went to Anthropic's website and read about prompt engineering and how it all works. I read through everything including their testing, and all the different application examples they have. I made sure to test every single prompt as I built them, and would go back to add new widgets to get better variables and more information to the main game AI. I ended up adding an AI widget to speak to that helps select a game, instead of just generating them and choosing them later. It also kept the app essentially broken into 2 parts that worked separately, the picking and customising, and the game and learning.

Challenges we ran into

  • Getting consistency was definitely a challenge, especially based on different variables
  • Getting the AI to do the text properly with markdown, bold, italics, and emojis.
  • Getting it to not repeat the same things in different widgets
  • It likes to lie or accept wrong answers sometimes
  • It would give away the answer even when asked not to
  • The difficulty level, especially if the subject is too broad

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Making something with AI first off... But even something that actually had me hooked for a long time! I kept wanting to see what kind of different games it would make, and with the emojis it feels really nice and fun to play.

What I learned

  • How important building a proper prompt is
  • Just one word can change the whole thing
  • If you give them a role or tell them they are a 'Pro' it can help a lot
  • You can tell it not to do things and it works wonderfully

What's next for Infinite Intellect Games

I would like to share it with others so that people can try it for school, for their kids and with them, to get them more engaged.
