Inspiration

the name infie comes from “investment + finance”… and a bit of “indie.”

i’ve been renewing the domain infie.app for years, always meaning to build something, but never finding the time. with shipaton i finally gave myself the push to just get started.

i’ve always loved personal finance, investing, even spreadsheets: but often i just want a quick glance at the big picture without opening a sheet or a cluttered finance app.

💸 how much i’ve invested 📈 what it’s worth today (roughly) 📊 am i up or down overall

that’s it. no budgeting every coffee. not just stocks. any asset that matters to you, tracked simply, whenever you want.

What it does

infie is a simple wealth tracker. it keeps track of your investments, savings, and debts in one place, also your monthly income and it's allocations, so you can always see the big picture. not about tracking every coffee, just about knowing where you stand: net worth, current value, and overall growth.

How I built it

i started with an expo boilerplate i use for my side projects, added react native libraries i like, then iterated fast with cursor + ai tools for inspiration. for store visuals and illustrations i had fun with canva and chatgpt image generation. revenuecat powers the paywall, notifee handles reminders, and i finally wrestled with icloud for daily backups.

Challenges I ran into

  • figuring out a good offline-first flow without a server. i didn’t want to risk people losing data.
  • getting icloud backups to actually work (spoiler: it took a couple of tries).
  • making the design feel calm and indie, not like another shiny fintech app.
  • deciding what to leave out: mvp mindset is hard when you keep getting new ideas.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

  • shipped the first version in a week! after years of just renewing the domain.
  • got app store approval on the first try in under 24h.
  • made the first $ in the first day (from oman 🇴🇲!).
  • got rid of my boring excel sheet and motivated to check in my net worth more often

What I learned

  • building offline-first is trickier than i thought, but worth it.
  • small details (like reminders or a simple growth chart) make a big difference.
  • ai tools are great for speeding up design and ideation, but you still need to keep it simple and true to your own taste.
  • consistency matters: sharing daily in public kept me moving.

What's next for Infie - Track Your Wealth

  • experimenting with widgets (will probably need to write a native bridge).
  • more translations and localized app store content.
  • android version.
  • bringing more overview insights and reports.
  • keep improving little by little.
