Infgest

Inspiration

Finding truthful news and remembering sources of information has become difficult due the widespread increase of misinformation. We need a way to inform ourselves and others of false information online.

What it does

Infgest is a community ran app where users can vote whether a website's information is truthful or false. Infgest provides an easy article digest where user's will be informed whether a website may be false.

How we built it

It was built using nextjs for the frontend and backend, with supabase being used as the database

Challenges we ran into

It was quite difficult to manage the scope as a solo developer

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am most proud with implementing the most popular votes page which shows a preview of the article but also the truthness

What we learned

Creating a MVP is essential when time bound and slowly adding new features was what kept the project running and publishable within the time limit

What's next for Infgest

The next step is to start hosting the website and adding automatic detection of details when adding a new article
