Inferno of Echoes was inspired by rhythm games, bullet hell experiences, and surreal psychological worlds, with major inspiration drawn from Undertale and Ozu. The project combines fast-paced dodging mechanics with rhythm-based inputs to create constant cognitive pressure, while blending absurd humor with darker emotional themes.

The game was built using pixel art visuals, geometric attack patterns, and a reactive environment synchronized to an internal beat system. One of the main goals was to connect gameplay and narrative through the idea of sound and consequence, making every mechanic feel tied to the world itself.

One of the biggest challenges during development was balancing visual chaos with gameplay readability. The game needed to feel intense without becoming impossible to understand. Another challenge was designing the recovery question system, which interrupts reflex gameplay with rapid thinking and adaptation under pressure.

Through this project, we learned more about gameplay pacing, rhythm synchronization, visual clarity in bullet hell design, and how narrative themes can reinforce mechanics to create a stronger player experience.
