Helping to solve problems of Mining industry service with augmented reality technology.
What it does
The application helps to resolve different industry-specific problems, such as:
1) Assistance during initial assembly or further replacement of components.
2) Help during routine maintenance and while servicing the equipment to reduce the ratio of errors.
3) It calculates wear and tear rate of equipment's components in order to: perform timely maintenance to keep the equipment operating at peak efficiency. identify the optimal time for the replacement of parts to prevent the complete breakdown of a system, which will greatly slow down the whole process.
4) Allows printing the necessary components on-site by sending the parts that need replacement to a 3D printing queue directly from the app interface.
How we built it
With the help of Outotec mentors we got clear understanding of the problem and tried to develop our idea with available technologies.
Challenges I ran into
Making the app easy to use, simple and user-friendly so possible engineers on-site can access needed data and functionality as fast as possible.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We managed to develop the concept of an AR app that resolves different problems in the industry.
What I learned
Intense collaborating with company and teammates to build a reasonable prototype from an idea.
What's next for Industrial Augmented Reality
After finalizing the idea with Autotec we can make a first version of the app and start testing the results in field.
