Inspiration

The idea for RailNav was inspired by the common challenges passengers face in large railway stations, where finding platforms and essential facilities is often confusing due to the inaccuracy of GPS indoors. We wanted to create an AI-powered navigation system that makes railway travel smarter, faster, and more accessible for everyone.

What it does

RailNav helps passengers navigate railway stations with AI-powered guidance, QR-based indoor positioning, shortest-path routing, voice assistance, and multilingual support—without relying on GPS.

How we built it

Built using modern web technologies, AI, and QR-based indoor navigation to deliver a fast, intelligent, and GPS-independent railway navigation solution.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was creating a reliable, AI-powered indoor navigation system that works accurately without GPS while ensuring accessibility and a seamless user experience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully developed an innovative, AI-powered indoor railway navigation solution that enhances passenger convenience, accessibility, and the overall railway travel experience.

What we learned

This project strengthened our skills in AI integration, indoor navigation, modern web development, and designing accessible, user-centric solutions for real-world challenges.
