Inspiration
Hampi's UNESCO World Heritage ruins — a city of 500,000 people that was the second-largest city in the world in 1500 CE. We wanted to bring it back to life as an interactive experience.
What it does
An interactive isometric diorama of Hampi, capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. Pan across a living miniature world, click five historically accurate landmarks to explore their architecture and history
How we built it
Phaser 3 game engine in a single HTML file — zero build system. AI-generated assets (Gemini) with structured prompts, all following a style anchor for visual consistency.
Challenges we ran into
Maintaining visual consistency across 13 independently generated AI assets. Getting the chroma key removal to handle edge blending without green fringing.
What's next for Indian Ancient City of Temples
Adding ambient sound design, animated NPCs walking the paths, and a guided "tour mode" narrated with historical context.
