Inspiration

We are now in the middle and most crucial phase of the lockdown amid COVID-19 in India. In this current situation, it's very necessary to take care of senior citizens as they are at high risk.

Many of our Indian friends live abroad or away from their parents. Due to which many parents are alone. They have no other option to go by themselves to buy groceries, medicines and other necessary items.

But do you know India has the largest number of young population in the world? So, its time to put our young population at work. Recently, I came across some news that many volunteers are helping senior citizens to stay home and they buying necessary items for them. Hence, I decided to develop a platform for connecting senior citizens with local young volunteers.

What it does

It is the platform that connects senior citizens with young people willing to help them. We make sure that senior citizens stay safe, as they are at more risk than the young population.

How I built it

I built it in 48 hours. Once, I was ready with the initial design, I showed it to my friends and family. The valuable feedback from them, help me to make my idea better. I used the power of Laravel and Google APIs to come up with such a platform in a very short period of time.

Challenges I ran into

In India, the challenges are how we can connect people. WhatsApp has allowed connecting people very fast. So utilizing the power of the number of WhatsApp users in India, I tried to overcome this challenge
