What's next for Independence Ramp

Due to the increasing needs of persons with disabilities to participate in sports activities and also to reduce the needs of these people to healthy people and their families, our group decided to build a tool that the disabled persons suffering from severe failure in all four limbs (Cerebral Palsy) can exercise with minimal dependence on others and they can even participate in Paralympics and World Boccia games. The current common tool used by Boccia athletes is totally a non-automatic and simple tool and there is need a partner to adjust the tool. While our patent, Independence Ramp, has been made of about 200 pieces of mechanical and electrical devices working with 220 V of electrical power. Tilt and rotation angle changes of ramp are electrically done by CP athletes without a need to a partner conducting it. Tilt and rotation angle changes and ball (Boccia ball) shooting will be done by clicking buttons on the panel laying in the front of CP athlete`s nose. So there is not any need to a partner to adjust the tilt and the angle of ramp and to place the balls at the beginning of the ramp and the player is able to continue his game until ending the balls. This device has been approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Iran. Our future goal is that all Boccia athletes using traditional non-automatic ramp, can use our device for decreasing their dependency.

During Covid-19 days, this device can help people keep social distance better. It is so necessary because many boccia players are so fragile and their health is in danger. On the other hand, they have to continue their exercise trainings. So, this device would be so useful and practical.
