Inspiration

The inspiration to make this project is, In the past agriculture was the backbone of India and our country wholly depended upon the farmers which is an agrarian economy country where the farmers lived their lives peacefully with their cultivation with a good amount of profit. But now the farmers are left only with losses and loans. So we want to help the farmers of our country. Our motto is "For the Farmers, By the Innovators, Of the country."

What it does

Our project will capture the live image of the plant in the agricultural field where the image will be further processed and it will be followed on three processes either the plant is healthy or unhealthy, if it is healthy then it will be moved on to the other plant and if it is unhealthy it will find out what type of pest has been attacked and what type of pesticide need to be sprayed. and also it will calculate how mush the plant has been affected and how much pesticide we need to spray and it will spray according to it. It is applicable to all the interval separated fields.

How we built it

We will be using a 12v dc rechargeable battery where it will provide input supply to the NodeMCU which is used for controlling the robot remotely and a L293d motor driver and The trained images will be fed into the raspberry pi for controlling part and camera will be integrated with it to capture the image for further processing and it will actuate the pump where the pesticide will be sprayed through the pump.

Challenges we ran into

To collect the data set in the agricultural field To train the images for the respective image classification and calculation of the pesticide amount To choose exact controller to make it more efficient and cost-effective

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We made through the finals of IIT MADRAS in the E-SUMMIT 23 where we are one of the top 8 teams where we competed with well renowned startups in the agricultural field and we finished in top 4 teams.

What we learned

How to approach the farmers and to ask for their problems and we learned how to attain the market and trust of the farmers to make our product effective.

What's next for INDAGRIC'S PESTX

We planned to make it more efficient and to update our model with the sensors and to control the irrigation process which comes under smart irrigation.
