Inspiration

We were inspired by the belief that education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of disability, language barrier, or learning style. Many students struggle with complex study materials whether due to dyslexia, visual impairments, or learning in a second language and existing tools are often fragmented or hard to use. We wanted to build something simple yet powerful that could help any learner engage with content more effectively.

What it does

The Inclusive Learning Assistant transforms study materials into more accessible formats. It has two main features:

PDF Chat Discussion: Lets users upload PDFs and ask questions about the content, receiving instant, context-aware answers.
Definitions for Complex Words: Automatically identifies difficult terms in the text and provides clear, easy-to-understand definitions.
Question Generation: Creates practice questions ranging from medium to hard difficulty, helping students test their understanding.
Key Points Extraction: Summarizes any PDF into the 10 most important insights, giving learners a quick grasp of the essential ideas.

Text Simplification: Powered by AI, it rewrites complex passages into clear, student-friendly language without losing meaning.

How we built it

We built this project with the support of Loveable, our AI coding companion. Loveable helped us brainstorm features, write clean code, and refine the user interface. From structuring the authentication flow with Supabase to adding the “magic section” of AI-powered features, Loveable acted like a tireless teammate always ready to suggest, debug, and inspire.

Challenges we ran into

A big challenge was making the project both simple and powerful. Handling large PDFs, keeping the interface intuitive, and ensuring AI responses were consistent all pushed us to think creatively. There were moments when prompts didn’t return what we expected or when front-end integration got messy. But with Loveable guiding us, we turned those challenges into learning moments and found efficient solutions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have built a functional prototype that combines multiple accessibility and learning-enhancement features into one cohesive tool. The application not only helps students understand difficult text but also supports them in actively learning through questions and summaries. Bringing together these features in a simple interface is an achievement we’re very proud of.

What we learned

Working with Loveable taught us that AI isn’t just a tool it’s a partner. We learned how to better structure prompts, integrate AI features seamlessly into an app, and design with accessibility in mind. Most importantly, we discovered the magic of human + AI collaboration: where our ideas met Loveable’s coding support, innovation happened faster and smoother than ever.

What's next for Inculsive Learning AI Tool

In the future, we plan to expand support to more document formats (Word, slides, etc.), introduce multilingual translation, and integrate adaptive learning that adjusts difficulty based on the student’s progress. Our vision is to make the Inclusive Learning Assistant a full study companion that empowers every learner to succeed.
