Inspiration
I came up with the idea in a traffic jam in Italy with a bunch of friends and we came up with the "anything" game - I started wondering whether it was possible to build.
What it does
Incredicat is a game I've been working on for a few years. It's basically a game similar to 20 Questions (or Animal, Vegetable, Mineral) that attempts to ask you questions to work out an object you are thinking about. You can think of everyday items (animals, household objects, food, quite a bit of other stuff etc) and it has 30 questions to try and guess the item.
How I built it
I built it using ID3 / C4.5 decision tree algorithms, built from scratch and using a C# back-end. The front end is in Angular/Typescript and uses WebGL/ThreeJS for the 3D graphics.
Challenges I ran into
The decision engine is ridiculously complicated to optimise. To get it performing well has required a lot of work.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
It learns - so it is still in its infancy but if I can get it played enough, it will become really good.
What I learned
That a project can suck all the time out of your life!
What's next for Incredicat
