A easy to access learning app for American Sign Language

Uses a computer's webcam to guess what letter a person is holding up through a machine learning model
How we built it
We created this project with Python
Challenges we ran into
As beginners we had trouble getting started as we were new to the team environment and using python packages. We also created our first machine learning model which was very confusing for us beginners
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to create a project that took us out of our comfort zones
What we learned
We learned how to create a machine learning model and how to feed it data for it to learn We also learned the basics of the opencv and mediapipe libraries
What's next for our Project
We want to give the model more data to learn off of so it becomes more accurate
