Inspiration

Cybersecurity continues to be an increasingly hot topic – and it’s no surprise why. We are all more connected than ever before, and although it is a great thing, it is not without risks. Information leaks, security breaches, hacks, data theft and other cyber attacks are becoming more common.

What it does

InCredibly keeps you secure by scanning malicious links and email IDs across the web. Therefore saving you from malicious and untrusted websites and links. In today's world, security is a major concern. On an average, there are about 2200 attacks per day. When you click on a malicious link or a link from an untrusted source, attackers try to exploit the vulnerabilities found in your accounts and systems. Don’t compromise your security, your security is important to us. Real-time scanning detects malware, viruses, abuse, phishing or reputation issues. Use this tool to source check suspicious links and websites. 

How we built it

We built the front-end using react.js and API using python. Front-end and the API was connected using Axios.

Challenges we ran into

  1. Due to the limitation of time, we had to work with tight schedule. Our idea was big so it was quite difficult to fit all our ideas
  2. Since it was an online event, it was difficult for us to work efficiently due to technical difficulties.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. We learnt to work with tight deadlines.
  2. We managed to do our best despite being online event.
  3. We were able to complete our project within the given time.
  4. We were able to adjust and work successfully as a team
  5. We were able to expand our knowledge

What we learned

For us this project was full of a rollercoaster ride, we learnt a lot about cybersecurity and major attacks that causes data breach etc., Just to summarise what we've learnt : •How to effectively use flask for cybersecurity! •Major causes of data breach. •How to scrap the web using Python for scanning and verifying the malicious and trusted web applications out there. And a lot.

What's next for InCredibly

We will bring updates and much more options will be available - scanning email IDs, mesages, phone numbers and origin of these sources. We will also work on options to confirm a information that may be misleading.
