Inspiration
Since most students are enjoying HBL and discord is more popular than Team and Zoom, thus we have decided to create a discrod bot
What it does
When we first set up the bot, we can do !help [command ]to show different functions available for the bot. Next, we can open a class/room with !create class/room and a random code will be generated. The students can join the classroom with !join class [code]. If the students join the wrong class, the teachers can do !kick @[discord name] to kick the students or they can do !leave to leave the class when the class end. During lesson, the teacher can do !random[code] to randomly pick a student to answer the questions. Lastly, the teachers can do !close [class/room] to close the class/room they created. There is also a money system, where teachers can give class credits to students who answer questions in class or help the teacher out with tasks. They can do so by !addmoney @[student's discord name] [the amount of credit they planning to give]. The students can do !currency to display the amount of "money" they have. When it reaches the end of the semester, the money can be exchanged with the teachers for things like Mcd Meal, stationaries or go the display shop with !display.
How we built it
We have built it with javascript, mongoose as the database.
Challenges we ran into
It was very messy, very limited time, some people were being a burden. We only had half of the time due to classes and projects.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to submit
What we learned
Only join the hackathon when everyone is interested and have enough free to fully commit on the competition.
What's next for Inconspicuous(032)
Continue on our current path and hope to join more competitions in the future with enough time.
