Inspiration

Sylvia Osinaku and ANIRBAN SANTRA drew inspiration from society's pressing need for social equality. Witnessing the challenges faced by marginalized communities, they were driven to create the InclusiveHorizon web app. It aims to foster awareness, empower users with knowledge, and encourage meaningful action towards a more equitable world. Our innovative platform was created with the vision of bridging the gap between communities, promoting understanding, and encouraging conversations around important social issues.

What it does

InclusiveHorizon is a comprehensive social equality website featuring a login page leading to five vital sections: Our login page provides a secure and personalized experience for users. We prioritize privacy and confidentiality, ensuring everyone feels safe while exploring the depths of social equality on our platform.

Implicit Language Checker: Detects and educates users about unintentional biases in their language to encourage more inclusive communication. Leveraging advanced natural language processing algorithms, it detects and alerts users about potentially biased or exclusionary language in real time. This powerful tool enables users to reflect on their communication habits and fosters a more inclusive environment. Social Equality Quiz: Engaging quizzes that test users' knowledge on social equality topics, promoting learning and self-awareness. By participating in the quiz, users can enhance their understanding and contribute to fostering a more equitable society. Personal Equality Plage: A dedicated space for users to record their commitments and personal goals in the journey towards social equality. Craft your quality pledge, set goals, and make a real impact on the world around you. Daily Social Equality Message: Provides users with daily motivational messages, fostering positivity and inspiration in their pursuit of equality. These messages provide users with short, impactful insights and reminders about key principles of social equality. By receiving these messages, users can stay engaged, motivated, and informed on their journey toward promoting inclusivity and social justice. Random Quote Generator: Presents users with thought-provoking quotes from influential figures, stimulating reflection and motivation.

How we built it

The team utilized React, Javascript, Firebase, HTML, git, GitHub, and CSS to develop the InclusiveHorizon web app. By leveraging modern technologies, they ensured a seamless and interactive user experience. The design prioritized accessibility, allowing users of diverse backgrounds and abilities to engage effortlessly.

Challenges we ran into

During development, Sylvia Osinaku and ANIRBAN SANTRA encountered various challenges, including implementing the Implicit Language Checker algorithm, designing an appealing user interface, and managing data securely. Additionally, incorporating the daily message and quote features required careful consideration to ensure relevance and authenticity.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite the hurdles, the team successfully created InclusiveHorizon, a powerful tool promoting social equality and consciousness.
