Inspiration
Many games are only doing the bare minimum to help the disabled communities, and current solutions like subtitles for deaf gamers still leave them with a disadvantage.
What it does
Demonstrate how a simple Simon game of memorization can give able people an unfair advantage, as well as showing how we could simply break down the games into separate sections so that competitive play can be fair to people who are disabled as well.
How we built it
Unity C#
Challenges we ran into
My ultimate goal is to create a solution that would be fair but also not segregate disabled and able into tournament groups. However, this problem is a problem that exist in every sports such as soccer and boxing.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating a prototype of a possible solution that take inspiration from sport to make games more fair for disabled gamers.
What we learned
That throughout history, there have been multiple attempts to shorten the gap between different groups with differences in physical and mental abilities. However, a lot of these attempts ended up with a stopping point where we are today where they have to resort to separation of classes like soccer and boxing.
What's next for Inclusimon
I hope to continue making projects with accessibility in mind and try to tackle the disability problem in more complicated games. My ultimate goal is to make games even more accessible for the disable communities and ultimately solved the problem perplexing people in other fields as well.
