💡 Inspiration
Modern cloud architectures operate at scales where human SRE response times are no longer sufficient. When a mission-critical service suffers cascading connection deadlocks or distributed resource starvation, human diagnostic cycles typically take 30 to 60 minutes—accumulating tens of thousands of dollars in lost transaction volume every minute.
We built IncidentZero to deliver Level-5 Autonomous Cloud Resilience: a self-evolving immune system that detects, diagnoses, and autonomously executes mathematically verified remediations with zero human intervention and sub-4-second MTTR.
⚡ What It Does
IncidentZero acts as an autonomous multi-agent SRE swarm continuously monitoring distributed microservice meshes:
- Voice-First Command Deck: SRE operators can issue voice commands (e.g., "Simulate DB outage") to inject real-world failure patterns and observe recovery dynamics in real time.
- AWS Bedrock Swarm Consensus: When an anomaly strikes, a triage swarm of specialized Bedrock agents—DB Doctor, Net Sentinel, and FinOps—analyzes live telemetry and debates until reaching a unanimous, verified mitigation strategy.
- FastMCP Remediation DAG: The consensus dynamically compiles into a multi-step Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) executed through FastMCP primitives:
- Cluster Telemetry Inspection & Thread Isolation
- Degraded Node Quarantine & Zero-Downtime Traffic Rerouting
- Query Lock Termination & Preventative Antibody Compilation
- Active FinOps Preservation: Tracks financial burn rate during failure states and measures exact capital saved post-healing ($18,450+ preserved in under 3.5 seconds).
- Closed-Loop GitOps Evolution: Synthesizes an automated hotfix Pull Request with unified diffs, generates an immutable Open Policy Agent (OPA) gate, and outputs an audit-ready executive RCA postmortem.
🛠️ How We Built It
- Frontend: Built with Next.js 14, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Lucide Icons. Features an integrated Web Audio API visualizer for voice command capture and real-time Server-Sent Events (SSE) telemetry rendering.
- Backend Engine: High-performance FastAPI / Uvicorn server orchestrating autonomous MCP tools, health checks, and state machines.
- Intelligence Layer: AWS Bedrock powering specialized agent personas, coordinated via FastMCP (Model Context Protocol).
- CI/CD & Deployment: Automated continuous integration via GitHub Actions with zero-downtime production deployment on Vercel.
🛑 Challenges We Ran Into
- Ensuring zero-hallucination execution when autonomous agents make state-altering infrastructure decisions. We solved this by implementing formal verification gates and a dedicated Safety Airlock layer before any remediation DAG step executes.
- Orchestrating ultra-low latency bi-directional communication between the audio capture layer, Bedrock consensus streaming, and the live dashboard UI.
🏆 Accomplishments That We're Proud Of
- Achieved an autonomous 3.45-second Mean Time To Remediation (MTTR) from crisis induction to complete system health restoration.
- Engineered a clean, sovereign multi-agent interface that provides actionable insight without overwhelming cognitive load.
- Successfully containerized and deployed both the live production application and complete open-source repository documentation.
🔮 What's Next for IncidentZero
- Expanding FastMCP integrations to native eBPF kernel probes for sub-millisecond anomaly pre-emption.
- Multi-region cross-cloud automated evacuations across hybrid Kubernetes and bare-metal environments.
