Inspiration

A few years after retiring from the military, I started a small business that blended my passion for technology and art. As my business grew, I realized I needed more control over my schedule, so entrepreneurship became the perfect fit.

I spent countless hours photographing my products, uploading images into creative editing suites, and experimenting with different effects. Despite all that effort—and even though I was proud of my artwork—my product pages still felt like they were missing something. A few months later, someone offered to redesign my product listings for $700. Seeing that price tag was all the motivation I needed to figure out how to solve the problem myself.

What It Does

StyleSwap transforms ordinary product photos into professional-quality product images in just a few clicks.

Simply snap a photo of your product with your smartphone or laptop, choose a style, and the app automatically replaces the background with elegant, scroll-stopping scenes—whether that's a rustic wooden backdrop, a modern studio, a cozy winery, or another aesthetic that matches your brand. In less than two minutes, your product photos are ready to elevate your online store.

How We Built It

StyleSwap was built using Google's AI ecosystem, including Gemini 3, Gemini Flash 3, Nano Banana, and Imagen.

Challenges We Ran Into

One unexpected challenge was managing multiple Google accounts during development and testing. I found it was much easier to stay logged out of other Google accounts, as switching profiles could interfere with API access and occasionally required refreshing the application.

Much of what I learned throughout the project came from the incredible Google developer community, Devpost, Discord discussions, and technical blogs. Their shared knowledge made overcoming roadblocks much easier.

What's Next for StyleSwap

Our next focus is growing through YouTube and social media marketing while gathering feedback from creators and small business owners.
