Inspiration
Our inspiration is the San Diego clean initiative to make the city a premier smart city in the world. We want to help move San Diego towards sustainable living and clearing up the roads from the heavy amount of traffic we endure.
What it does
Our project is a plan to encourage individuals to utilize alternative forms of transit such as walking, biking or public transportation. We offer credits to users that are accrued by using these alternative modes of transport. In turn, this credits can be used to buy public transit passes as well as coupons, products, or deals from local businesses that the city has partnered with.
How we built it
The mobile application is built on Ionic 2. The server is build on MongoDB, Node, and Express.
Challenges we ran into
There was't a lot of great data out there that met the needs we had. If we were able to get our hands on certain data sets that weren't available or discuss with a SD MTS representative, we'd have been better off.
What's next for Incentiwise
Refactor the application and server to utilize best practices. We want to expand and continue to do research on our plan to get a more accurate model of the business and marketing roadmap that the project should follow. While we have good estimates on the financial impact, we need to be much more granular.
