High schoolers are faced with a lot of work which often leads to procrastination and stress/anxiety. We created a method to plan out your work, encouraging you to start your work ASAP and have fun.

Inspiration

Many high school students are often overwhelmed with the amount of work they get in school. This can lead to procrastination and large amounts of stress. We wanted to create a platform where students could be motivated by friends as well as personal goals.

What it does

Incentivize is a fun platform where students can organize their assignments and set personal goals. It provides motivation through a points system that awards the user points for completing various achievements. It also offers an interactive feature where one can "friend" their classmates/friends who are within the same class. These people will be grouped into one group so they can discuss random things about homework/tests/help/etc. The assignment setting has a time limit input and an option to group the task to a specific class. The number of points an individual receives is based on how quickly the assignment is completed. As the student starts to collect more points, they will have the chance to buy items from the virtual store, where points are converted to dollars.

How I built it

We built this project in two parts. Using Java, we created different methods that would complete tasks such as allow the user to enter their information and classes. We also used Figma to visualize what our website would look like if the code was fully functional.

Challenges I ran into

We had some trouble learning how to use the different features of Figma. We needed to figure out how to make the UI as accessible as possible, as well as making it visually appealing.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Learning how to navigate Figma with a limited amount of time, learning how to code and connect buttons for the website features,

What I learned

We learned how to use various systems and code different things using Java. We also became more skilled in using Figma for our project.

What's next for Incentivize

We would like to receive funding from possible sponsors and advertisements so that we can add more features and also be able to buy the products that are sold in the website store.We would also want to develop the coding of the entire website to add many more features that could make the UI and UX better.
