Inspiration

NEWS!! Our PROJECT has ALREADY been selected as WINNER in the CoViD19 Madrid-Governement driven Hackathon. Madrid has been one of the most intensely areas of Europe struck by SARS-CoV-2 and CoViD19. With all that experience we present our project to Europe.

We need population-wide information about our immunisation status. This is key to recover social activity and economic drive in Europe after the general lock-down. This information must consist on data that comply with personal choice for disclosure and safe data management.

This will be done through serological tests which must be so easy to use that people can autonomously perform them at home once delivered, given that is expected that future infection waves will confine certain population groups at home in the months to follow. This is also key to desaturate clinical diagnostic labs and healthcare units.

Companies all around Europe need to know at their best the immunological safety of their employees and clients to keep providing their best services and products.

What it does

Our project INTEGRATES, END-TO-END, all the gears needed in the value chain for GENERALISED RAPID, CHEAP and HIGH QUALITY SEROLOGICAL TESTING. This includes regional production, deliver, autonomous use, data introduction, customisable data disclosure, and further downstream solutions decisions related with population-level immunity to SARS-CoV-2 throughout European countries.

REINFORCES REGIONAL BIOTECH-INDUSTRIAL ECOSYSTEMIC NODES ACROSS EUROPE to provide the millions of serological tests that will be needed in the two following years in their own areas. We provide an solid model for a long-term and integrated European self-sufficiency goal.

How we built it

We have dedicated teams:

• BIOTECH: we have gathered the expertise to create a model for the serological test. Lateral flow assay, is a mature technology that we want to produce to the highest of its qualities and to the most economical price with social responsibility always in mind.

• INDUSTRIAL DESIGN: we have developed the workflow for industrialised and high-number output production of serological rapid tests.

• APP: we have developed the front-end of an app that will register the results of the test and collect syntomathologic information so that personalized recommendations/instructions from each country’s and european-level health authorities can reach the citizens. We need a company that provide us with the backend for this app.

• LOGISTICS: we count with experts in logistics that have designed a system for delivering test where needed with identity verification.

• PUBLIC HEALTH: we have distilled important information about current and forecasted public health dynamics to understand the chronological order in which tests must be delivered.

• At Spanish level we have also count with Industrial/Intelectual Property consultancy to make sure we are in the right path.

Challenges I ran into

i) Financial support for set up and validation of the tests ii) Scale up efforts with regional industry iii) Industrial and technological partners iv) integration with governmental health authorities in each interested country and in Europe.

Accomplishments that we are proud of

We have set a 16 persons team with which we were one of the winners of the “BeattheVirus” hackathon promoted by Madrid Government. We have done an immense work already to put together all the puzzle pieces.

What we learned

We can do amazing things when we put motivated people to work together. That we need a real compromise from institution, governments and companies to push forward our project.

What's next for IN2TEGRA

We are on the starting line, we have done most the background work. We need the financial support to put our idea to work and some company to provide support for backend of the app.

Once we prove the concept in our original region, Madrid, we can extend our model on regional nodes in different countries.
