"In Your Eyes"

Inspiration

In Your Eyes was inspired by the quiet power of eye contact—how a single look can say everything words can’t. I wanted to explore the idea that entire worlds can be reflected in someone’s eyes: their hopes, their fears, their longing, and the spark of connection that pulls two people toward each other. The project blends romance with dreamlike surrealism, using shifting environments and soft color palettes to capture the emotional landscape that lives inside a person.

What it does

The music video follows a young woman whose emotions and inner world come alive visually in each shot. As she gazes toward her unseen love interest, the world around her transforms—colors bloom, environments shift, and visual metaphors appear like fragments of her imagination. The story is told entirely through expression, mood, and movement, offering an intimate look at love as seen “through the eyes” of the heart.

How we built it

The visuals were generated using a combination of AI creative tools including OpenArt and Kling, which provided the stylized characters, environments, and transitions. The music was produced using Suno and refined in Adobe Audition. Adobe Premiere Pro was used to assemble the final video, manage pacing, integrate sound, and color-correct the footage. The entire piece was crafted without dialogue, relying on visual storytelling and musical emotion to carry the narrative.

Challenges we ran into

A major challenge was achieving consistent expression across shots. AI models can vary widely in how they render eyes, emotion, and subtle facial cues, so it took many iterations to capture the right softness and sensitivity in the character’s gaze. Matching lighting and blending scenes from different generation tools was also difficult, especially with transitions that shift between dreamlike environments. Another challenge was maintaining the emotional clarity of the story without spoken words—every shot had to communicate something precise through composition, motion, and music.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of how cohesive the final piece feels, especially given the surreal visual style. The emotional continuity from shot to shot—carried by music, expression, and motion—is something we worked hard to achieve. The shifting environments turned into a strength, creating a poetic, immersive experience that feels both intimate and otherworldly. The music and visuals complement each other beautifully, resulting in a piece that resonates emotionally without narration.

What we learned

This project reinforced how effective AI tools can be for stylized storytelling, but also how important manual curation is. We learned how much nuance goes into crafting believable eye expressions and how lighting consistency can make or break a romantic moment. It also highlighted the importance of pacing in music-driven stories—allowing space for emotion to breathe is just as important as the visuals themselves.

What's next for "In Your Eyes"

I’d love to expand this into a series exploring emotional storytelling through visual metaphors. Future variations could show the other person’s point of view, or explore how two inner worlds collide when people fall in love. There’s also potential for a longer music-driven short film with more dynamic character animation and dual perspectives.
