Inspiration
We wanted to develop a way to reward users for having social interactions in real life.
What it does
It tracks real life interactions and rewards users for being outgoing and socially active
How we built it
We used Android Studio to develop an app and a python-flask server to simulate Etherium hash ID's. The app uses an Etherium ID to track user progress and NFC functionality to validate in person interactions.
Challenges we ran into
Android Studio uses kotlin, which has a lot of deprecated api's. Generating and storing unique Etherium ID's is also particularly difficult
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully performed peer to peer ID transfer
What we learned
Using the Etherium blockchain to store user ID's, app development, server communication
What's next for In-Person Social Media
If we were to continue this project, we would implement a rewards system and a social tracker to show users their social accomplishments over their usage of the app.
