In His Image

In His Image is a short film. It’s an AI-powered music video about the process of transformation and self-acceptance. Visually, it takes the audience through a journey from darkness into light, from hiding to being seen, through the acts of removing our masks and realizing that we were made perfectly in His image. The piece uses a fusion of movement, light, and music to portray this theme of identity and divine renewal.

How I Created It

In His Image was a multi-step, mixed-media creation pipeline that used AI, motion graphics, and editing. The process looked something like this:

AI Image Generation: I started with DALL·E and generated visual scenes/moods that captured the underlying spirituality of the piece, namely the concept of darkness, masks, and The Creator's light.

Motion Capture & Animation: I then used a suite of tools, namely Runway Gen-4, Runway ACT-Two, and Runway Aleph to move/animate the original still images.

Music Generation: I scored the film using Mureka AI.

Colour Grading & Assembly: Finally, I went into Adobe Premiere Pro to do final colour grading, assembly, and add the finishing touches to the overall visual tone/rhythm of the piece. All of the audio-visual elements were assembled into the final video piece.

Challenges I Ran Into

Conceptually, the challenge was that of imbuing AI-generated images with spiritual emotion, i.e. the light of the soul. This required a lot of experimentation with crafting the right DALL·E prompts, colour toning, timing, and overall pacing. There were also some technical issues involved with achieving lifelike motion and emotional movement within the visual medium. Finally, as a creative, it was a challenge not to lose the message of the faith in the fascination of the visual art FX.

Accomplishments That I'm Proud Of

I'm most proud of proving to myself once again that artificial intelligence is a tool that can actually bridge, not widen, the gap between technology and spirituality. It can be used as a tool for fostering intimacy and togetherness among people, rather than creating further distance between us. In His Image is an example of an AI-assisted meditation on light and identity.
